Helping developing countries

SC Johnson is supporting recycling efforts in developing countries and promoting infrastructure for recycling in communities with high volumes of uncollected plastic waste.

Fighting poverty

SC Johnson's partnership with Plastic Bank also helps to fight poverty. Under the program, residents can collect and exchange plastic for digital tokens. Using blockchain technology, they can use the digital tokens in exchange for access to necessities, healthcare coverage, school tuition, local currency and more - reducing the risk of loss or theft. This ethically recovered material is called Social Plastic, and once collected, it is then sold to make new products.
